Who is Lone Peak Youth Football?
The Lone Peak Youth Football (LPYF) District is a non-profit corporation dedicated to bringing the benefits of organized football to the residents of North Utah County who reside within the Lone Peak High School boundaries.  We provide opportunities for children from 1st through 9th grade to participate in full-contact organized football. Our organization is run entirely by volunteers, most of whom have children in the football program.

Who else is part of UCFC?
Four other Districts (American Fork, Lehi, Pleasant Grove, and Westlake), make up the Utah County Football Conference (UCFC).

Who can play for Lone Peak Youth Football?
Only those players who reside within the Lone Peak High School boundary, as defined by the Alpine School District, are allowed to register with our District.  There will no longer be a "grandfather" clause.

Is registration limited?
Anyone who registers by the deadline will be placed on a team, provided there are enough volunteers to coach.

How are teams divided?
Teams are formed by grade level, not by age.  The three younger divisions, 1st/2nd Grade (combined), 3rd Grade, & 4th Grade, are non-tryout teams.  The teams are formed along elementary school boundaries. Every effort will be made to ensure that all players from a particular elementary will play on the same team.  Often times, two or more elementary schools will be combined to form a team.  In the case where a single elementary school registers more players than can be placed on one team, those players registering last will be moved onto another team where space is available.  The four older divisions, 5th Grade, 6th Grade, 7th Grade, & 8th Grade, are split into subdivisions through tryouts.  These subdivisions are termed "A" and "B" and play only teams from their subdivision.  These teams are formed along middle school boundaries.  In the 9th grade division, teams will be formed along the high school boundaries.  The 9th graders will work closely with the high school football program with the "A" team coach being selected by the high school coach.

How many players are on each team?
For most teams, the ideal number of players is between 20-22 players.  However, because registration is not limited, in many cases it is not possible to keep the numbers in this range.  The maximum number of players on any team is 25, unless the head coach agrees to accept more players.

Are there weight limits?
There are weight restrictions in each division.  Any player weighing more than the limit (an "X man") will be restricted to certain positions on offensive only - there are no defensive restrictions.  These weight limits are:

1st/2nd Grade 75lbs
3rd Grade85lbs
4th Grade95lbs
5th Grade105lbs
6th Grade120lbs
7th Grade135lbs
8th Grade165lbs

How do I register?
Simply click on the "Reg. Account" link in the left column.  You will need to create an account and then register for the program.

What are the fees?
Participation fees are $150 for 1st-8th grades and $175 for 9th grade.  Also, each family is required to sign-up to volunteer or pay a $25 fee. Please note that before a player will be considered registered in our program, all fees must be paid in full. Partial payments will only be accepted if approved by the District Board.

Need I buy equipment?
The registration fees include rental of a helmet, shoulder pads, pants, and pant pads.  Each player also receives a game jersey which is his to keep.  Players must provide their own footwear. Rubber molded cleat shoes, bar cleated little league baseball shoes, and tennis shoes are permitted. Steel, aluminum, hard rubber, or nylon with metal cap cleats are not permitted.

Do you offer financial hardship scholarships?
Each year we set aside a certain number of scholarships available to players who, due to financial hardships, would otherwise be unable to play.  Download the application here.  All applicant information will be kept in strict confidence.  For further information, please contact our registrar (click here).

How often is practice held?
Practices will usually be held five days each week for two hours per day, until school starts. Saturday practices or scrimmages are at the discretion of your coach. After school starts, practices will be limited to 3 per week for two hours each.  Scheduling of practices is at the discretion of the head coaches.

What is the minimum play rule?
All players will play a minimum of 10 plays per game provided the player has attended all team practices during the prior week.  If you as a parent believe that your child was not given the required number of plays, please speak with the head coach.  If you continue to have concerns, please contact us here.

Are 9th graders subject to the same rules as the younger grades?
The 9th grade division plays by the UHSAA rules.  The high school coach is closely involved with these players and provides camps, weight training, and condition during the summer.
